Buying our dream house or first home is an exciting and special feeling for everyone. But we should take care while buying our home first time or always. Before buying a property or our home, we should make a checklist according to our needs. That checklist will help us to find our comfortable and perfect quality home.

Following is the checklist according to the house structure and important basic components

1. Foundation of House

Foundation of House

Foundation is the most important part or component not only for the home but also for any structure. Also, inspect the inside and outside of the home and know about every specific thing, like the presence of any tree near the structure because its roots cause a problem in the future for the structure.

Check out the presence of cracks in the wall, which affect the lift f structure.

2. Doors & Window Condition

Doors & Window Condition

Doors and windows are a significant portion of the home for safety, ventilation entrance, and many purposes. So we should check their action according to their motion like they are stuck or jammed.

For windows, check out their caulking, spaces, cracks, etc The main important thing about the windows is age because old windows are costly to replace. Check out the paint on the window also.

3. Plumbing and Appliances

The age of plumbing appliances is a must to know also; check the bibcock, fixture, tub, water tap, bathtub, faucet in kitchen and bathrooms; weird noises, discolored water, or slow drains. Check out the area near the dishwasher and refrigerator for stains or leaks

We must know about the furnace age so that if it creates noise or any other issue, it should need to replace. Check around the furnace if there is a rust stain around the floor or cabinet, which may indicate previous repairs/issues

To know the heater’s age, question it, and check around the heater for leaks. Check out stains or corrosion on pipes or tanks.

For stains or odors, leaks may demonstrate problems. Question for the establishment in the event of a power outage? Inverter or battery back up.

Loose connections and damaged sections have to check Check out the position of the downspouts extends away from the foundation or not

Check the downspout extensions, which carry water away even further. The prevailing gradient or grade of house flooring should take into concern. It should slope out from the house, not toward it.

The roof’s age is important to consider,  and check out for there are any warranties. Get details about when last inspected. Check how it looks from the street at a distance.
